Can I preview before paying for export?
Yes. You can create one project, generate captions, edit them, style them and preview the result with a CaptionFX watermark. A clean MP4 download requires enough credits.
What does CaptionFX cost after the preview?
Credits are sold in one-off bundles: 100 credits cost $0.99, 500 credits cost $4.99 and 1200 credits cost $7.99. Exact export top-ups use $0.01 per credit. Captioning starts at 20 credits, translation starts at 40 credits, transcript usage adds 1 credit per word, and optional edits or styles add their own credit cost.
Do I need a subscription?
No. CaptionFX has no subscription and no monthly fee. You buy credits when you need them and use them whenever you like.
Do my credits expire?
No. Credits you buy stay on your account until you use them. There is no monthly reset and nothing expires.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Unused credits in your wallet can be refunded — email support@captionfx.com and we will return the leftover balance.
Do you put a watermark on the video?
The preview experience includes a CaptionFX watermark. The MP4 you download after paying credits is clean.
How long can my video be?
The main limit is your credit balance at clean export. Longer videos usually have more transcript words and therefore a higher project total.
What do I actually download?
A new MP4 with the captions burned into the frames, the way captions look on Reels or TikTok. You do not get a sidecar .srt file to lose — the captions are part of the picture, so they show up wherever the video is posted.
Which languages does CaptionFX support?
